Just had an email in from GuitarGuitar offering a Taylor AD27e Flametop plus free Taylor Baby for £1199.

It's only in the My GuitarGuitar area at the moment. So you have to be registered for that. 

That's a mad deal for a USA Taylor and you get a Taylor Baby Guitar too!

Absolutely great guitars, I prefer it to my Martin reimagined HD28 that I had a few years ago.

Supposedly, in this body shape and with the V-class bracing, not as bright as you'd think it would be - but also, not the typical Taylor sound.  At least, that's based on the video reviews that I checked quickly whilst getting the credit card out

I do like maple back and sides, I've never tried the maple top though. (Not on acoustics, anyway!)

I got the 214ce earlier last month, the baby came free. I sold the baby onto a mate fairly cheaply, but it reclaimed some of the cash from the 214ce,

It's a lovely guitar, I've really started getting back into acoustic.

I have a mahogany top AD27 and it’s my favourite guitar. This is seriously tempting for alternative tunings. But I definitely don’t need it.

I really liked it, very resonant, played well ect. I liked the more trebly sound of it compared to the full size.

The maple top does worry me a little. I tried an all myrtlewood guitar once, which is very similar to maple, and thought it sounded awful. All upper mids and completely dead. Will be interested to hear what others think of this when they start coming in.
