AI vocals

How do you feel about this? Anyone tried it yet?

Having stumbled across a YouTube video, as an experiment, I thought I'd give the limited free trail of something called Audimee a go. I think there are a few similar AI voice websites out there.

It doesn't actually generate the whole vocal itself from scratch as it were. You have to upload a reasonably okay vocal track (preferably without FX) but then it's converted into the "AI Artist's" voice. There are a number to choose from - male, female and various styles.

I would have previously been quite sceptical about this but I was surprised with the results.
Here are some short 30 sec clips of the same song - my original vocal first, then two of the free "artist" options available in the trial.

Not sure if there are any VSTs out yet that do a similar job but if not, I'm sure they won't be long coming.

For someone like me who can sing a bit but isn't really a proper vocalist, I think this could be great. I think I'd still prefer to use my own voice generally but it's a very useful tool for songs where my vocal doesn't cut it.
