Marshall JMP 2203 value

A friend of mine who knows nothing about amps is about to come into possession of one of these. I haven't seen it for years but I remember it as being in very good condition (and sounding amazing). Any idea of a ballpark figure for value?

I’ve bought a few of those over the years and couldn’t sell any for more than £1.3K.  
Some real museum pieces might fetch up to £2K but most I’ve seen in decent condition in line with age tend to just hang at around £1.6K-£1.8K. By hang I mean they don’t sell.

I heard they are popular and fetch good money in the US but I don’t have any evidence to support this.

£1200-1300 is what they sell for unless they are absolutely immaculate and very early.
As Cathan says loads of people try to have a go at £1600-1800 but they do not sell.

weirdly they are not super expensive, and people will pay far more for inferior amps (i.e. anything that is not a 2203)
