    With respect, this is exactly the problem - for both the public and Boeing - there's no such thing as a 737-800 Max. They are different models - the 737-800 is the older model with a good safety record, the 737MAX-8 is the new model with the as-yet poor safety record.

    Jet2 still only has 737-800s according the their Wikipedia entry.
