The top on that is outstanding. And being a Hamer it is no doubt impeccably made. Congrats!

    Hi all,

Just arrived today - a guitar I bought and paid for back in September 2023 and I only got around to arranging the shipping last week.

It left Canada on Thursday last week and turned up at around 11.00 today at mine.

I think it’s staggeringly pretty and it positively glows. There are maybe two marks on it which is amazing for a 30 year old guitar and makes a nice companion for my other Vintage S based old Hamer custom order.

    Specs are…

Solid Figured maple body 7/8 size, and finished in Hamers beautifully shot 59 Burst.
    Birdseye maple neck
Lovely looking figured Pau Ferro fingerboard
    3x Seymour Duncan SSL-1s
Onboard preamp 3 band EQ and a gain boost
    ABM vibrato
    Sperzel locking machineheads
    Dunlop dual design Strap buttons
    OHSC

This spec is the least hard rock/ metal of what could be ordered - any combination of pickup options were SSS or HSS with either a Floyd Rose or ABM and chrome, gold or occasionally black hardware.

The Vintage S sat at the top of the price list for a few years with its close relative the T-62 (hopefully have one incoming soon).

Here are some shots from about 5 mins after unboxing.

The owner of this guitar contacted me knowing I was looking for a nice example of this model - it’s one of the few benefits of being so invested in the Hamer world that this happens on occasion.

Total cost landed was a few pounds over - well I’m not going to say because it was a lot less than I reckon people might expect - and I’ll be accused of gloating - quite rightly.

I’ve a set of old spec SD hotrails which will probably go in there presently

I keep thinking I’d like a Valley Arts or something but I’ll probably stick to my knitting - I reckon I’d risk being disappointed and certainly paying a shed load more money for something remotely similar…

    What do you think?

Funny you said about a “Valley Arts “ this Sublime guitar put me in mind of one, definitely worthy of an 80s session guitarist . You must be extremely pleased with yourself landing this beauty  it really is a beauty

Love it. Out of interest, what's the nut width?
Nut width is 42mm, outside of E to e strings is 35.5mm - battery flat so eyeballing only.

    Cheers!
    Ben.

Just for fun I recorded a little solo last month with the guitar prior to tearing it down for a a spot of fettling and some pickup swap outs.

It’s nothing to flash and definitely not perfect so don’t expect too much!!!
