FS/FT: 1995 Gibson Les Paul Custom Wine Red £2800 (cheapest I can see online - low low forum price)

Decided that’s it possibly time to let go of my beautiful 1995 Gibson Les Paul Custom in Wine Red. 

Lower price than elsewhere for the forum: 

£2900

You know what it is, it’s a beautiful 90s Gibson, it’s an incredible guitar and I’ve owned it for nearly 6 years, but I have a 90s SG and a 90s Lucille that I use more. 

So, the main points are listed below: 

The good: 

It’s a 90s Les Paul Custom

Original pickups 

Original electronics 

No neck/headstock break 

Beautiful ebony board 

Original hard case 

The horrible speed knobs have been swapped for relic top hat knobs. (Originals included) 

The bad:

Tuners swapped for Grovers (before I owned)

It’s quite worn - there’s finish cracking, there’s wear through to the wood on the neck in one spot, the top corner of the headstock binding is missing 

The finish clearly reacted to a wall hanger at some point (before I owned it) 

The pick guard is aftermarket 

The vinyl handle to the case is missing (before I owned it) and it just has the weird tubing from inside the handle left. Original vinyl covering is in the case for repair if you want. 

The bridge has sunk slightly, but again, was like that before I owned it. 

I have tried to capture the main issues/wear etc in the photos, but can supply any specific photos if needed. 

Ideally looking for cash, but would also consider the following as trades:

Fender Custom Shop Telecaster
70s Fender Telecaster Custom

Fano Alt De Facto RB6/JM6/GF6

Or I’d consider part ex plus appropriate cash for:

Most higher end Fender/older Fender 

Most higher end/older Gibson SG models

Other Fano models/levels 

Music Man Stingray RS 

80’s G&L ASAT Special 

Pricing is difficult, but due to the wear, I’ll price it a bit lower than others I’ve seen. This is a good £400/500 less than any other Custom (with no breaks) I could see at the time of posting.

Love that - major Cantrell vibe, major un-Cantrell price!  That spot on the neck, how 'feel-able' is it?  Is it between 9th and 12th frets?

It’s a beauty for sure! It’s at the 4th fret, and you can “feel” it, but it’s smooth and it’s never made a difference to playing.

Thanks man.  I've been considering the Cantrell but can't justify that £££ on a Gibson and every time I think about it I conclude getting a real deal, original 90s wine red LPC with good honest wear is the way to go.  This is as up that street as I've seen.  Let me ponder over the weekend, hopefully we can chat some more.
