Bonjour

I know there's a few options nowadays for UK postage that actually insure guitars, but have any of you shipped something to the US/EU of late where the guitar would actually be covered? I've only found quotes from ParcelForce and UPS so far, coming in at ~£170 via Overland Express.

M business account is with DHL so I’d recommend them. But that’s based on my experience with them over the last few years, others might say different of course.

I've used UPS for many many years now - Touch wood, no problems

Get standalone insurance and then pick whatever courier you want.

That's the buyer's responsibilities though, so no impact to me as the seller (as far as I'm aware!?)

Correct. But if you're shipping an expensive guitar, the buyer flying in and picking it up in person might be a much better option. Low-cost airlines sometimes offer roundtrip tickets to London for <100gbp. 

Edit: also, when buyer takes it home himself, 90% of times can sneak it through customs, whereas large packages shipped with couriers are inspected and buyer has to pay the fees 90% o times.

Hi all, I am looking to get a used guitar shipped from England to Ireland. Going to put a low value on it to try and save on fees, and I will fully take the risk. It's a mate sending it. Would, as per recommended, UPS be worth a look?
