feel, dynamics, touch, speed; everything really! After yet another 10 hour day at work it was great to hear him play, but it does rather underline the difference between natural talent and lots of hard work (him) and stubborn unremarkable plodding (me). Of course I won't give up, but will pull out the Tab book of his stuff tomorrow and get stuck in to mangling it again.

I'd suggest you concentrate on the first three as, imho, they are more important in making music.
The fact that you could hear them in his playing will make it not only possible but also much easier for you to acquire them, if indeed you're lacking in this department.

P.S: forget the tab book for a while, use/train your ears.

I think I'm lacking in all departments but will persevere; it would be boring if it wasn't a challenge. Don't get me wrong, his playing did inspire me and I'll keep plodding and hopefully learning.

Word is he called in Toneworld in Manchester this afternoon.... He's really not my cup of tea, but if any fans happened to be there, I would imagine quite a thrill for them....
