Moving over to entirely Mac based playing

What's Hot
Hi all

Sure this has been asked before a million times so I apologise on advance. Currently running a Pod Go for amp sim and using an ancient laptop to utilise for YouTube backing tracks etc. There's a 8gb Mac Mini on the classifieds I'm tempted to get and utilise an amp sim on and then have option to do some light recording if necessary. Would a newish 8gb Mac mini cope with that fairly comfortably?

Currently I'm literally using one amp sim on the Pod and seems bit overkill when I could sell it off an upgrade my computer hardware and use that for playing as well.

Any and all opinions welcome!

I have a 8gb M2 Mac Mini and it can do that through garage band no problem.

  • You’ll have no problems. Theyre really good machines for the money.

What they said. Of course, you will need an audio interface. But even the modest Zoom U22-U44 series are plenty quick enough on MacOS.

Loads of good free software out for recording guitars, plus DAWs and plugins as well.
