It looks beautiful, but is that really what we class as "a little different"?

1 vol., 3 tones seems daft. 3 vol., 1 tone or the Peter Frampton circuit would make far more sense.

I guess it's a little different because it's a Tokai version of something that's not at all different.

    3 pickups - OK
    Bigsby - OK
3 pickups + Bigsby - not the most common thing surely

    Agree about the controls though

it was a spec Gibson made in the late 50's as the top of the range model, so does make a custom shop reappearance every so often

Aha.  I think it's the first time I've seen one.  Presumably not lightweight.

From the 3PU Custom on the cover of Frampton Comes Alive.

Neck and bridge humbuckers > selector switch > one pair of volume and tone pots > output jack.

Centre pickup > the other pair of volume and tone controls > output socket.

Usually in the 9-11lb range.  Customs tend to be built heavier anyway, and the bigsby adds a pound on top of that.

Neil Young has a two and three humbucker versions in black.
    He doesn’t have a Selmer .
He has a nice vintage Daryl to plug into 3

Tokais usually seem to be on the heavy side too, whatever species of "mahogany" they use isn't one of the lightest.
