Although no master volume, from memory I found mine fine indoors, providing it's a clean sound you're after.
I find my '74 40w Pro reverb to be the same, far more controllable at lower volumes than my 10w Tweedy-lux...nuts!

I’d be more inclined to say yes and no.

One of my favourite late night noodling amps was my non master vol AC30 with the blue speakers. Was the most ferociously loud thing I’ve ever heard in my life, dimed it produced a physically terrifying level of noise but also was the most mellow and glorious thing at a whisper volume too. Bigger amps always seem to be less noisy than the terriers and that’s a big factor in how enjoyable they are me a low volumes.

Damn…. I’m really talking myself into Bassman gas here

I found my 90's Bassman fine for home use, absolute stellar pedal platform too.
Now have a AC30/4 with EF86 - RIP YOUR HEAD OFF - but also quite manageable clean or with a pedal in home studio.

Hi styles, as the others have said, it sounds really sweet at low volume and then you’ve got all the power and volume you need for gigging and such. It’ll stay clean a long way up but great for pedals. In short you just have to keep it low and use a pedal for dirt in the bedroom (ooh err Mrs…). If you lift the volume itself though above a certain setting (I’m on the train so can’t check) it’ll be too loud for bedroom I think.
