Lollar El Rayo

Ok I know I just got the guitar and I'm definitely not going to do anything rash because god knows I don't want to get into the wiring on a 335 again. 

BUT... the neck pickup in my new 355 is a little woolly and the middle position isn't quite as Tele-ish as I'd love it to be, so my mind wanders and the next thing I know I'm looking at potential options, and top of the list is either a P90 (maybe even a Staple), or possibly a Lollar El Rayo, which is a very percussive single-coily humbucker, which thusly sounds right up my street. 

Anyone know anything about these? I saw @Octatonic has a build with these and I think @Hattigol had some in a Bilt, but otherwise google can't find any discussion on here

This is worth trying. Quick and free. Though you might want to reorient the pickup so the active coil (without the screws) is closest to the neck.

Interesting - I might give it a go if it’s reversible
