I hope this is the right section,
Which scales do you use that are reliable and affordable, if they exist???
I bought a £15 non digital kit but they are off by 150g I believe…so I need to get some better ones I suppose…
Which would you recommend me?
many thanks in advance!!

I use these, accurate to 10Kg

The smaller, more precise pan is good for weighing pigments, glues and such.

Anything over 10Kg, e.g. boxed and cased guitars go on the bathroom scales!

I got a luggage scale like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0BB28MCQ5

Definitely affordable, reliable so far, but I can't say anything about the accuracy or calibration. Works fine for guitars, for packaged boxes you might have to rig up a loop of string or something to hang the box off.

If I wanted to weigh a part I'd use some digital kitchen scales.

I have some imaginatively-named MyWeigh KD-8000 kitchen scales - mains powered, up to 8kg load, accurate to 1g.

You can even recalibrate them, though I've not needed to.

Why do you need them to be so accurate? Does your guitar have a big fight coming up?

    Ha! Always!
actually I don’t care about weight unless is something that is bothering or worrying for as long as it sounds good, but Eeeeveryone seems to be so concerned with the weight of any guitar that it seems to have become a feature of the overall value of a guitar, sometimes new and mainly used…..
on a side note, for flying scales come handy…

I’ve only weighed guitars when asked by others.

I’ve always bought guitars in person, apart from (ironically) my LP Custom. So I’ve always been able to check the weight.

My LP Custom was weight relieved (early 90s non custom shop), so it wasn’t very heavy.

I can't help about the shape I'm in, I can't sing I ain't pretty and my legs are thin

But don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to
