Hidden gems of the music shop world

Whilst exploring Scarborough today I stumbled on a music shop called Knights. I almost didn't bother going in as it had the usual selection of el cheapo ukuleles in the window, but I'm glad I did, because they also have a lot of weird and wonderful secondhand stuff at surprisingly reasonable prices. A lot of it's piled up any old how and quite hard to see, but there were a few proper classics including a blonde Fender Tremolux with matching cab, an original Dallas Rangemaster and a pretty old-looking Jazz Bass. Also a lot of quirky sixties things like Hofners and Selmers and a mad-looking Dallas 30 amp.

The guy who runs it is called Chris and is absolutely lovely. He said he can't be bothered to sell online, so you basically have to go in and see what he has, or ring up. He's only open Thursday to Saturday.

And then he sold me a very nice vintage snare drum at a price I couldn't refuse.
