    I concur. I like mine a lot.

Great take on an absolute classic, classier than the usual Cayman, Boxter fare!

i do like a Stratos but I agree it was a strange looking car in some ways..
What you'd get if you crossed a Ferrari Dino with a TR7 and added a bit of flying Saucer
The Stratos always makes me think of those films of the year 2000 that they made in the 60s & 70s - it’s like a futuristic car from the past.
(Yes, I know it *is* a futuristic car from the past, but you know what I mean!) :)
Too much gain... is just about enough \m/

I'm probably the only member of this forum mentioned by name in Whiskey in the Jar ;)

Anyone remember the Alphasud? rusty old things , I had a mate back in the late 80's who had one, back then we treated cars like this as 'oops I crashed it, oh well' , had loads of fun in that old thing.

    Nah, for several reasons.

    1. Alpine's heritage is "normal" engines in great chassis(es) - the Megane RS derived engine in the A110 is entirely appropriate
    2. The slow one does 0-60 in 4.5 seconds already - but still does 40mpg on average
    3. Anything more would be bigger and/or heavier, and then the whole car gets bigger and heavier, and you lose all the advantages of being lightweight
    4. It makes brilliant whooshy noises

Wow,I didn't realise performance was so rapid ......I looked at 240bhp and thought it could have been a bit beefier.
    It's a 1.8 turbo ,no ?
    must be v light

    I think it's 260bhp, but only 1100kg. And yes, 1.8T.

The S, GT, and R are 300bhp, and the R is a bit lighter too.
