    25 electrics.   Most are different but 3 Fender USA sunburst is the most numerous colour. Followed by 2 white fenders. In the lead til last year was 4 white but moved 2 white Gibsons on so sunburst takes the winning line

  • Black, with a whopping 2 black guitars.
    Just so people are aware. I have no idea what any of these words mean.

    As an aside, what are they going to do for outfits when Ted Baker folds?

    The actual answer for me is blue, with five guitars (not just Telecasters) of various shades.

    All 14 are different. None are black, white or purple so I guess I need at least three more guitars just to cover those gaps!

    5 red, 2 burst, 1 blue, and that's after selling 4 red guitars.

    I'm a sucker for see-thru cherry red.

    Back in the 80s I only had black guitars, today it's as follows:

    5 Purple
    3 Turquoise/Blue
    2 Chameleon
    2 White
    1 Black
    You need to either sell one or buy another :-)
    Hmmm, I'm thinking of buying another one, but I'm also trying to sell one. However, one of the purple ones is a Bass VI, so I just don't count it and hope that'll do the trick. ;)

  • I suppose I've got four that are just "wood" colour (archtop, singlecut solid, acoustic and mandolin), but quite different wood. Otherwise I don't think I've got any others the same colour - yellow (another singlecut), black (bass), purple (weird home-made 5-string).

    3 Blue
    1 Butterscotch
    1 Natural

    Last blue one I did set out to buy something non-blue, but I just couldn't help myself :/

    Without properly working it out, I've no idea.  I think white, black and various shades of green are the main ones, but I'm probably underestimating the cherries.  And sunbursts.

    There aren't any pinks or purples or yellows.  At least I don't think so.

    I currently have three blue and two red.

    One of the blue won’t be staying and one of the red (my other modern Mustang) is going to be refinished this year. Which begs the question as to what colour.

    Either keep it red (a nice shade of faded Fiesta), or was thinking of aged Olympic White. The only thing putting me off is ending up with red, white and blue guitars (as opposed to two red and two blue)…

    15 out of 16 guitars/bass/uke are black,
    one is dark enough for me, while the back is black, too

    Looked at one way:

    * red: 0
    * cherry: 0
    * orange: 0
    * white: 0
    * blue: 0
    * black: 0
    * purple: 0
    * gold: 0
    * green: 0
    * combinations of the above: 0
    * sunburst (proper sort): 0
    * sunburst (horrible black sort) : 0
    * natural: lots!

    Or another way:

    Tops -
    * Sitka Spruce: 4
    * Englemann Spruce: 1
    * European Spruce: 1
    * Huon Pine: 1
    * King Billy Pine: 1
    * Western Red Cedar: 1

    Backs -
    * Indian Rosewood: 2 (but one is up for sale)
    * Blackwood: 1
    * Sugar Maple (Acer saccharum): 1
    * Silky Maple (Flindersia pimenteliana): 1
    * Queensland Maple (Flindersia brayleyana): 1
    * Myrtle Beech (Nothofagus cunninghamii): 1
    * Southern Sassafras: 1
    * European Walnut & European Yew: 1

    I can't abide painting good timber - and in acoustics, I cannot rid myself of a nasty suspicion that manufacturers resort to painted finishes in order to hide flaws in timber selection or workmanship. Paint (and other ways of colouring things) is a better idea for carbon fibre instruments - and despite my love of fine timbers, I might just buy one one day as a travel guitar. Green, I think.

    I seem to have ended up with guitars that are either:

    - some kind of browny gold or brown sunburst, or
    - some kind of off-white, usually with tortoiseshell
