The word “skill”, used in a multitude of applications in the 70’s

eg: “Skill, my sister just slipped on some white dogshit!”
I was telling my wife the other day that as kids we said "skill" meant bird shit, but I could find no evidence online of it being true!

    Crikey, cripes, gosh
    Cheque
Terms like crikey, cripes, gosh, oh crumbs, spiffing, chum, old bean and "I say" (spoken in a Leslie Philips voice) were how we jokingly spoke mock-posh as youngsters in South London. My brother and I still use those old expressions in our messages to each other. They just sort of stuck.

I suppose all 90's sayings like "Wicked", "Mega", "Sorted" and "Mad for It" are a bit passe now?

I also remember kids at my school in the 80's used to say "Guy" a lot. "Got any Fags, Guy"?

My daughters in primary school say Mega all the time... eg it's mega cold.... it's mega expensive, mega cool etc. It seems alive and well if this far corner of Wales at least.
