The thing with Fender style guitars is that the recipe is so set in stone that in my experience its far more about individual guitars rather than which brand manufactured it. I think anyone who wants a high end strat or tele should just go and play a whole bunch and buy the one they like best - ita impossible to tell from specs (because they're all the same). Thankfully even shit guitar shops have about eight million strats on offer.

It's a fair question and can be levelled at many "boutique" brands.

My view is if you truly have an interest and need to scratch that itch, you should buy one & try it for yourself.

I think this is good advice. I looked at all the Teles in 3 guitar shops and didn't find anything quite right, then saw one listed on a Facebook page that looked promising, brought my Tele to compare, and was impressed enough to buy on the spot

Probably fair to say that that any slab style guitar that is asking more than £2k of your hard earned is doing so with some amount of hype attached.

For quite a bit less money you can get an Eggle OZ-T which is something I’m also considering. Which is all completely made in-house.
Just do that lol.   Picked mine up for a good price (wasnt a custom build - though Im considering a strat type build - It was from Music Street who did an "If you walk out with it today" deal when i asked for one).

I did replace the bridge pickup - which for my tastes as a little too bright BUT as the PUs ar Mojos, I just spoke to them - told them how I wanted to change it, and went with the esquire they recommended.   I kept the original tele special in case I wanted to try it again down the line.

i spent 4 years trying to find the right tele, adn this has turned out to be it.
This is what I'm thinking at the moment. Much less money than a Danocaster and of a much higher quality I imagine. I've owned three/4 Eggles and each has been close to perfection.

I don't think that's possible. Different, for sure, but saying it's objectively better quality is silly.
