    Much obliged, sir.

Progress since that pic has mostly involved Dettol wipes.

I picked up a similar Epi (perhaps a little newer) in a charity shop. It was not quite free, but nearly as some of the bridge pins were missing. Also bizarrely someone had removed the strap buttons. I tided it up and moved it on to a kid learning the guitar for not much more than I paid.

It played OK, but was not to my liking personally, but I am glad that someone ended up getting some use out if it in the end. Pickups did not excite me much, but I did not like the guitar enough to spend money upgrading anything on it.

Yeah, I’ve no preconceptions around where this is going. The electrics are all functional but there’s a grounding issue somewhere leading to crazy amounts of intermittent static. Sound is a bit crap and the intonation is off. If I can sort that then I’ll put in new pots, switch and output jack.
To be a keeper, it would also need new pickups and bigger frets.

But it’s definitely too good to go in a skip.

Plywood guitars often serve well for slide playing.
You say, atom bomb. I say, tin of corned beef.

I think it’s wood btw, but will dremel a bit of red from inside a cavity to see. Seems ok acoustically at any rate. Not as lively as a good Strat, but ok.
