Fairly certain it is 2002 - the 2 would indicate the year, so 2002 - Can't be 2012 as Fender purchased Kaman/Hamer around 2007 and shortly after that no more Hamer USA - I have a 2006 Hamer that reads 654 *** so that would support yours as 2002 and certainly not 1992

I'm retiring so might be selling it. Have tied before people keep telling me it's 2012 I know it's not. I needed a second opinion.
Thanks for all your help everyone.

The first 2 could well indicate 1992, 2002 or 2012

But USA Hamer ‘s finished about 2007

A 6 digit number with that sequence takes it well beyond 1992

So a firm 2002 is the only option

The only exception to the above is that Hamer went 100% Custom Order only at the end.

The guys had the restrictions lifted on Jols usual reluctance to make examples of the 80s guitars and features like bolt ons Floyd’s and boomerangs .

So we had some mega orders including a mad redcustom SS2 with triple coil and sustainblock and tumbling boomerangs, one maybe two custom watsons, one Virtuoso that I know about a few Californians.

These were being delivered up to late 2012.

Hamer closed the doors in Spring, 2014 according to the Hamer Fan Club site.

Can't find the Hamer serial number dater - Ask the HFC Experts - Hamer Fan Club Message Center

Yeah, they were working on the top end guild and ovation stuff and the Hamer custom orders were pretty much being done in spare time around the other (boring ) stuff.

I’m due a call with Mike Shishkov this weekend, but we’ve missed each other a few times over the last couple of days.
