I’m considering changing the cream pickup rings in the SE Marsden to black. For a change. Anyone know exactly which make/model pickup covers I need to get? Unfortunately I just received these and they don’t fit.

I’ve always bought from AxesRus, had many sets of pickup rings from them, their descriptions and measurements on the website have always been spot on.

I'm trying to remember where I got mine from. I wanted to change an SE Custom 24 from black surrounds (generic Asian one tall, one short) to cream, equal height.

IIRC, I had to buy two bridge position surrounds and abrade them down to the correct US Core series thickness.

Not that I'm vain or anything. ;)

Another vote for contacting PRS UK parts. They were brilliant when I needed a replacement cavity cover for my Bernie, as the parts they stock for the current SE range won't fit the older SEs. They had plenty of old spares to hand when I emailed them.

Although I may go for black screws on the rings.

With black mounting surrounds, the SE Bernie looks strangely reminiscent of a certain S2 Singlecut wot you used to own.  :)

Can’t believe they can’t get that lower cutaway right after all this time…

    Yup.

Usually, it is host to my OCP Winterizer II pickups. Recently, I changed to a Scrapyard Dog Plus in an attempt to convince a friend that it would suit his Gibson Les Paul. The bugger was sufficiently enthused that he considered offering to buy the S2. As that impulse subsided, he shook on buying my OCP "2012" anniversary SYD+ and NF4 pickups. Not heard from him since!
