No GAS - help!

I haven't had proper GAS for a while now but I'm also not playing that much any more. Mostly just come to read here out of habit I think! There's stuff I think would be nice to have but then realise I wouldn't use it enough to justify the cost. Feeling like I could do with a new musical direction to get inspired again so I bet that will bring back some GAS for different gear to suit

I've definitely become much less GAS-prone in recent years.  At first I thought it was a passing phase, but the chronic GAS has never returned to pre-pandemic levels... (nothing to do with the pandemic really, my peak was 10-12 years ago).

I think it's partly down to prices... I stopped buying bargain-basement stuff years ago, and the prices of most things I might want to buy have skyrocketed to the point I won't even consider them any more.  I don't think that will change. 

(Having said all that, there are one or two things which are appealing to me at the moment....   )

I found my desire to chase guitars waned after I joined a band I really liked. I shifted from wanting to try out lots of flavours of gear to wanting to specialise in the guitar I use for that. Now I know all the strengths and quirks of my gear and don’t have to worry about things sounding off or making fumbles because knobs or switches are in different places. I still have a few guitars at home that I play, but they’re only really for alternative tunings more than anything. 

I’ve never been too interested in amps or pedals, I’ve always been a Line 6 multi effects user and don’t feel the need to look outside of that, and now I use the helix amps are completely irrelevant to me.
