LCD monitor interference from rack compressor

Hi,

I've just dug out my old cheapo Behringer Autocom Pro rack compressor and reintegrated it into my home studio.  Due to space constraints I have installed it under my PC monitor, with the bottom of the monitor close to the unit.

Switching the compressor on via the front panel caused the monitor to glitch, going blank temporarily.  It would occasionally do the same while in use, so I moved it to below my 1U audio interface, which improved matters but does sometimes do the same when I switch on, though not quite as much.

I guess it's just EMF interference from the built-in transformer, but I'm concerned that it'll damage my monitor.  Is that likely?
