Three things are certain in life - death, taxes, and guitar players trying to skimp on buying proper nut slotting files.

That's all fine and well if you like square-bottomed nut slots.  I nearly pressed the stop button when I saw the word "hack" in uppercase in the captions at the start.  He showed himself more or less burnishing the slot for the low E string a bit deeper, but neglected to show how to handle the ones for the high E and B strings.  You can get by with a lot of improvised tools if you can't afford proper ones, and this is something I did by necessity due to shortness of money in my early days of tinkering with guitars, but it's so much easier and far less risky to use the proper tools.  For every 2nd or 3rd nut I tweaked with improvised tools I ended up having to replace one or fill the slots with superglue and bicarb when I made the slot too wide, too deep, or over at an angle.
