Just outstanding stuff from the girls.
June Millington was/is such a great slide player.

    Agreed.
As an aside, Isn't it fantastic that film stock "HD's" up so well that things like this could have been filmed yesterday?

Shame about very low end, badly shot, flim stock- let alone video - but the tools to upscale the latter are coming.
Ten years too late and still getting it wrong

I wonder whether they identified as "girls" back in the day.... They were an excellent band.

There was a documentary about them a while back. It was either Sky Arts or BBC4.

I think they identified as musicians, it doesnt really matter what gender you are when you are blowing peoples minds and melting their faces with your music like they did.

I watched that, it was very good. I think from memory they were treated as a bit of a novelty act back then (and tbh, the name didn’t do them any favours in the UK) but they were a bloody good band in their own right.

I owned their single of “Ain't That Peculiar”. It was a few years before I found out it was a Motown cover (IIRC). I prefer their version :-)

Brilliant band. Very difficult to find using Google without getting sidetracked.

I was referencing the OP's post where HE referred to them as girls. I wasn't curious about their self identification.
