Any opinions here on this amp?
Had a Morgan SWR22 previously.
Quality workmanship, sounds and ownership?
thanks

I have played a couple of these little AC inspired amps, I prefer the top boost channels from a VOX, so end up finding these amps really dull and lacking the chime I would expect from any amp with the AC marking. YMMV

I would try before you buy with your own guitars.

I had one. Was lovely clean to edge of breakup but didn’t really get on with it gained up. However, at the lower end of the gain spectrum it was pretty damn good.

Sounded superb when had it crunching up a bit on the bridge pickup and could flick to a middle position for a cleaner sound. Then add a drive pedal/fuzz for something more full on.

Struggled with it live as really started to compress when ran hard and made delay/reverb tricky as what worked clean was a mess if you stepped on a drive pedal.

I did think about getting the ac40 which would have worked better for me but went with something else in the end. To sum up I’d say for me it’s a great home/recording amp but didn’t quite give me what I wanted live… although with IEMs or proper monitoring probably wouldn’t be an issue.

If it's the one in Edinburgh I've seen it and looks in very nice condition. They've had it for ages so might be some wiggle room on the price. It's a fair size and weight I think, definitely bigger and heavier than the 20 but I'd say worth it for the headroom if you plan to gig with it.

I've got the dag version which is great. Another recomendation to try it as there seems to be a lot of variation in the different versions.

I had a head and cab and it was great. Sounded ace, power scaling good and took pedals well but didn’t need them. I sold it because I am an idiot

I’m general I’d say that Morgan amps are utter bargains for point to point hardwired boutique amps.
I think @Hattigol can advise on this model

Did you get it from coda used?
Might be my old one and I seriously regret letting it go

No. I got it from a forum member (Janahan).
I’ve been through pretty much all the high end stuff and I didn’t like any of them as much as this. I think this is faaaaar superior to both of the Two Rocks I’ve had. (One a CRS).

Belting little amp that sounds very sweet. Especially with my Les Paul. I run it into a Fryette Powerstation for the loop and it just kills live, too.

Have to say, I think the Morgan stuff from a bang for the buck point of view is vastly under-rated and falls under the radar. I've played an MVP23, JS12 and AC20 deluxe recently and all splendid amps. All nail the sounds they're aiming to, but with player friendly mods. When you think how comparatively cheap they are, it's insane.
Your MVP will have been a fifth of the price of a CRS. Insane.
