Very special hand made guitar by Anthony Ryder, who is one of the UKs best builders of Gibson-style guitars. In the vein of Yaron, Barlett, etc, he builds very vintage-accurate LPs from super top-grade woods (often from the relevant years).

Bought this privately from Racer Jimmy about a year ago, and its almost as good as the original 61 LP/SG I had, but I've got too many guitars so a few have to go, but only if the price is right. As I understand it he borrowed a 1961 Gibson SG from a friend, set out to get as close as he could, and built this (and at least one more). So the neck is that lovely slim 61 SG/LP one, nut is about 42mm, and the guitar is light and resonant. Weighs about 7lb 2 oz.

Specs are as follows as advised to me by Anthony:

- old growth mahogany body and neck,
- old-growth Madagascan rosewood fretboard.
- pickups are made / hand wound by Anthony's brother based on 60s Gibsons, and are excellent - very dynamic, articulate and sweet sounding.

There was another one that sold on this forum about 3 years ago, this is a different one that I think was commissioned by Racer Jimmy. So probably 3 or more years before you see another one for sale!

Gator hard case.

£1,950 posted and insured, or £1,900 collection from East Finchley, North London (or I could drive nearby to meet you, or meet at a London Underground stop). Guitar is a little bit redder in the flesh - first photos is the closest.

Tiny scratch (under 1 cm) on top bout as below, minor scratches just below that if I'm being really fussy:

Secondly, Kawai Aquarius strat like guitar with 3 dimarzio humbucker copy pickups. Early 1980s, MiJ Aquarius AQ555, recently bought from TTony of this forum.

Vol, Tone and 3mini-toggles - each of which switches its pickup between on, tapped and off, which obviously gives you a lot more output options than a standard 5-way switch. The pickups are generic of the era.  Kawai originally used Mighty Mite versions of the 70's DiMarzio Super Distortion (on other and earlier ranges), but by the time of the Aquarius, they'd adopted a generic no-brand version of the Mighty Mite versions.

Naturally, what they lack in 2020s boutique pickup fairy dust, they more than make up for with 40+yrs worth of genuine Japanese production line mojo.  And just look at those aged double-cream/yellow tops

Despite its age, fretwear is minimal and the neck is relatively clean. Bought for a project that never happened. I've added a generic trem (which slightly knocks the volume control when you pull it over - no idea how to source an original) and had a basic set up done so the action is about as low as it will go for a cheap 80's Japanese guitar, ie it's ok but not perfect.

Will throw in a soft gig bag at £175.

Collection from East Finchley, North London or meet nearby or at an underground station that isn't miles away from me or the city.

Open to sensible offers on the Ryder, else its off to reverb and fleabay, or back onto the guitar rack.
