Also, feel free to comment on how you approached the solo, which will add a bit more interest and maybe we can learn something from each other.

There should be headroom to record your solo. Try to set a level without excessive master limiting, because we want to avoid loudness wars.

Voting will start soon after the submission deadline, with each voter selecting their 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice.

First choice gets 5 points - Second choice gets 3 points - Third choice gets 1 point

The order and scores of the top three entries will be announced soon after the voting ends.

No prizes. It's just for fun.

It might justbe me, but the download option isn't working for this track.

Whipped one up this evening and sent in.

I went for some Tremolo, some panned imaginary sax duets and squeezed in the James Bond chord for good measure.

Usually I detest all forms of ska but this was surprisingly fun to jam along to once I'd worked out a few notes in a scale.

That's weird, I've definitely set the permissions correctly.

Also, I tried to download previous SotM106 and SotM105 (as a check) and the download button doesn't work for those either, whereas it obviously worked previously.

Maybe it's a problem with Soundcloud. I'll check again tomorrow.

 @digitalscream the download button in the Soundcloud playlist (in the first post) isn't working.

It might be a Soundcloud issue, but I wondered if it's possible to check whether it might relate to this site.

Yes I can download the mp3 via that new link on both mobile and desktop devices.

I reckon soundcloud have changed,  their help now says to download tracks, users must be signed in.

Just to note that I'm going to have intermittent access to the internet, so there might be delays in uploading entries and in closing the challenge.

Sent one in. Really enjoyed this one - great backing track @fastonebaz  

Single take after about ten goes at it. Feels like it went into some strange mashup of Ska and Klezmer at points, but it hangs together well enough. I'm pleased with the tone, which was an el-cheapo condenser in the room. Just a bit of limiter in Reaper, no EQ or anything else.

Shame I missed this, I've been in Cornwall and didn't have time. Struggled to get one done before early in the month. Good backing track as well. I might still do one just for the craic.
