Thanks, all. I am blissfully happy that I could tick this box. I held back because I’d read so much about how you’d have to spend north of £4K to get a decent one and the newer versions not being as good, but this one is an absolute beaut, perfectly put together, the neck feels great, really easy to play and sounds just peachy.

Very nice. That reminds me of the first proper vintage guitar I ever played, in a shop - an early-60s 335 that had faded to that sort of ‘watermelon’ colour and gone a bit matt. This was in 1985 so it can only have been just over 20 years old. It was £1500, which seemed like an impossible amount of money for a guitar then. The funny thing is that I can still remember what it sounded like unplugged - very odd to a teenager who had only ever played solidbodies, but I could still tell it had ‘something’. I don’t really get on with 335s now - too big for me - but I sometimes wonder if I should try again.
