Kemper rig manager back up / restore help

I'm buying a second hand Kemper.  I have some Rig Manager backups created on a PC from 3 or so years ago.

My PC is work and they are funny about having software installed on it, so I just installed Rig Manager on my Mac. 

On the mac the rmbackup files appear as zips.  Rig Manager wouldn't import them.  I unzipped one and then it imported....but it only showed a handful of rigs and no performances.

There is a Profiler restore option and that recognises the LocalLibraryR2.db file from my backup folder.  But when I do the restore, I get nothing, no error or acknowledgment messages and no additional rigs or local performances appear in Rig Manager.

Is this because no Kemper is attached to the Mac?

Or, is it some compatability issue between the backups created by the PC version of Rig Manager not being usable by the Mac version?

I would ask on the official Kemper forum, but ironically it's down for maintenance....and I think it was the same way a few days ago when I looked....

I would suspect it is because you don't have the Kemper connected, and is to prevent piracy.
Hardware dongle, in effect.

Andy, yes to my knowledge, the Kemper should be attached to the PC.
