NGD: Fender Hank Marvin Signature

I picked up this rather lovely example of the rare “Hank Marvin Classic”, made in Mexico in 1999-2000. These were strictly limited to 350 guitars sold in the Uk (and possibly some in Oz), and came with the easy-mute tremolo arm alongside the classic arm. This particular example is in truly absurd condition for a 25 year old guitar, essentially a case queen. I bought it because i wanted a classic fender strat and this fits the bill perfectly, but the added dose of Hank doesn’t hurt either.

That’s just so nice. Remember there being one in bonners music in Middleton years ago and loving the look of it.

I'd love to know how it compares to the early 90's Squier Japanese ones. They were a damn fine guitar

Most did! But not the Mexican made ones.

Thanks all! It plays great, sound exactly as you’d expect and is nice and light. I can’t compare it to the squier or Japan models, but certainly the build quality is right up there.

It’s hard to argue with those classic Fender DuPont colours isn’t it…

Slight side track here : A trip to Bonners Music in Middleton was the highlight of my week, back in the day . . . I loved it there :-) Tractor Music was another, but that was in Rochdale . . . Bonner was a real character, he had an amazing collection of Vintage Gear that he kept in the back and didn't sell . . . . . He loved those early Blond Fender Bassman's . . . I did hear that he'd sadly passed away though, but that's not a surprise, time flies and here I am at nearly 62  . . .
