This started life as a ‘52 reissue, dates to 91, I got it in 96. My Dad, who is not doing the may west healthwise, drove me a couple of hours to buy it from a pro-musician who had returned to Ireland from the US. It had already been refinished (for some reason), butterscotch left on top but clear back and sides.
I’ve gradually modded the shit out of it over the years.
It’s been out of action for about 6 months or more. It’s back, new bridge pickup from Oil City (Copperfield - Micawber clone), the old bridge pickup (Kinman 60s) has been moved to the middle, and the neck is a “Gilmour” from Q pickups (heavy formvar Strat-a-like).
Now string with 14s and tuned to C for Sabbath/QOTSA vibes.
I’m learning to love it all over again.
