Squealing lunar module fuzz clone

Hi all, I picked up a second hand fuzzdog clone of the skreddy lunar module fuzz.  It’s a great pedal and I’m enjoying it a lot.

However, I’ve found that I can only really use it with the range turned all the way clockwise.  If I back it off the pedal starts squealing and howling, unless I back of the fuzz quite a bit.

might anyone have any educated guesses about what the issue could be?

Are there any adjustable resistors inside? I’ve got a fuzzdog phaser that oscillates if the pot is too high (or low?)

Thanks for the suggestion - I don’t think there are any adjustable resistors that I can remember, but I’ll check again just in case
