JHS pedals definitely have their own thing going on, and the Spring Tank is no exception. You can set two levels of reverb (let's say for accompaniment, and for solos), tame the highs, add some mild boost, and generally fine tune all the major parameters of your 'verb. But because it's good old knobs you're adjusting, all this is simple and straightforward; everything does what you expect it to do, with no options anxiety.
None of this ease of use would be significant however, if the basic reverb sound wasn't good - and in this case, it's great. From bold to subtle or drippy, the Spring Tank offers a really faithful rendition of the spring reverbs we love in Fender and other great American amps.
