Joey Barton published multiple tweets suggesting that Radio Presenter Jeremy Vine had a sexual interest in kids. JB also created a hashtag to to with it.

He's now "agreed" to pay Vine £75,000 + costs for defamation and harassment.

I used to like him as a cheap midfielder in fantasy football, but in real life he seems pretty toxic.

to be fair, any comparison to Mother Theresa is pretty insulting for most people.

It's quite strange that sometimes he comes across like that - he's a big defender of gay rights apparently - but then he does something a bit dim. Like assault someone.

Yeah. I remember a couple of years ago, he was doing the rounds and trying to pass himself of as some sort of pseudo- intellectual, got on Newsnight, Question Time amongst other things. He even had a (very poor) attempt at speaking french at one point.

Came across as a massive helmet.

I think it's because you expect pretty much all footballers to be dumb.  They're taken out of education early and generally offered nothing else other than football and media training.  Then when one of them speaks eloquently (ish) about something it's a bit of a surprise.

**This is not to say that JB isn't a complete and utter bell end of the highest order**
