Quite so. But that was almost a hundred years ago.  And umm ... if you a re using pickups then it's not an acoustic. 

So far as I know, Ibanez don't make any actual acoustic archtops, only electric ones. (Which is not to say that electric archtops are a bad thing, much of my favourite music was recorded with them, just that they are not acoustic guitars within the meaning of the act.)

The only major manufacturer making proper acoustic archtops that I know of is Eastman. But I'll be very happy to be reeducated on this point. (I'd rather like one, but I wouldn't buy an Eastman.)
