Using laptop for live guitars

If I wanted to use a laptop for my processing, how would I connect it to the PA?
I've got a Roland GoMixer Pro X which works as an interface, but it only has a headphone out and a smartphone in/out (both 3.5mm).
Do I need to get a 'proper' interface?
Can I just go out of the headphone out on the Mac?
Sorry for dumb sounding questions!
