1970s Telecaster neck

How much should I expect to pay for a 70s maple tele neck? I'm thinking of slowly gathering a 70s tele Johnny Cash style (One piece at a time). I'd be happy with repro pickups and hardware but would like the neck and body to be 70s era. 

Am I better off just buying a 70s tele? The necks on reverb seem exceptionally expensive compared to the price of a full guitar.

Perhaps I need a neck sized lunchbox and a reason to work for the fender factory...
