Can’t see this mentioned anywhere, apologies if already posted. John Martyn’s guitars, gear and stage clothes are up for auction. The ex Paul Kossoff Goldtop will fetch major money no doubt.

Frankly its actually more interesting that its John's guitar to me... Koss played *loads* of Les Pauls, and it seems that each time a 50s one comes up for sale in the UK it *may* have been owned/played/farted-in-the-general-direction-of by him.

    Never Ever Bloody Anything Ever.

    Fascinating collection of kit there.
Which item shall I buy to enable me to write a follow up to 'Solid Air' ?

And they’re not even sure if it came from Koss or Joe Walsh. Mind you, it’s a nice gift either way. Nobody’s ever given me a 54 goldtop and it’s my year of birth guitar. The selfish bastards!

I posted a thread about this a few weeks ago. I’m attending today - there are a couple of lower priced items I’m interested in. Wish me luck!

Good luck. There looked to be some bargains to be had, but obviously it’ll change on the day. Sorry I missed your earlier thread, the search function didn’t throw anything up, not that that’s exactly unusual.

I would be more curious to see what wee bags of stuff still reside in the pockets.

I like the way the auctioneers think "viscose" is a label and not a semi-synthetic fibre....  I think they look pretty cool in the close-up, actually.

He's currently looking at himself in his diarrhoea brown £110 crinkly viscose trousers in the mirror and wondering whether it was a wise purchase.

Bought the My Creator lyrics (which I really wanted) and narrowly missed out on a Dearmond sound hole pickup. Got to play his SG and both 54 Les Pauls. Quite an emotional experience…
