Sad news. His humour was gentle and sublime.

One of those people I seen to have always been aware of without knowing much about but he was hugely popular in the USA in the sixties and seventies and a much loved figure. RIP.

One of the greats, so much more than 'Professor Proton' which most in the UK probably knew him for. RIP

I remember the sitcom "Newhart" from the 80s.

The man had exquisite comic timing.

Fond memories of listening to LPs of Bob as a kid with my late grandad. A funny dude.

A good age indeed, but still a sad occasion.
If you can't find something funny that he did, then maybe you are dead too  ;)

I remember as a little kid hearing his Tobacco and Bomb 'telephone conversation' recordings on the radio. Brilliant comedy timing and very amusing. That seems so long ago but he must have been a fairly young man then. Made it to 94! RIP Bob.

That's sad and he played great characters.

Both ironic and poignant that one of today's Big Bang Theory episodes is about the death of Professor Proton - RIP

I can also remember hearing routines frim his comedy LPs on the radio.  Reading about him last night he had several TV series over the years but if they made it to the UK I don't remember ever seeing them.  A very familiar name, though.

I saw his wife only died last year and they were married for over 60 years.  Maybe the time was right.

    RIP

The driving instructor sketch should be mandatory viewing/listening.
