FT/FS: Sterling By Musicman AL40 Daphne Blue - £270

RedFalconRedFalcon Frets: 188
edited July 26 in Guitars £
So, here we have a Sterling Albert Lee model, the AL40 in Daphne Blue. Retro off-set Mahogany body with Jatoba fretboard on maple neck. Simple HH setup with Volume and tone and a Fulcrum bridge tremolo. Weighs in at 7.04Lbs

The bent switch, it still very much functional - I kind of dig it, so I left it like that - it's slightly easier to switch between pickups.
There is a tiny hairline crack on the paint next to the neck pocket.

I'm mainly looking to trade:
Prs Silver Sky SE maybe?
PRS SE standard models
Epiphone Les Pauls, 61 SGs
Squier J Mascis Jazzmaster
EVH Wolfgang Standards

Hit me up with something of the like, something cool, it might take my fancy.

Looking for £300 £285 £270

Comes with generic softcase, tremolo bar and strap.

Collection from London

What do you dislike about the Sterling SUB AL40?

I have an AX40. It sounded lifeless with the stock Asian humbuckers. Things livened up after I installed two DiMarzios.

If you like the way that the AL40 plays, it is possible to get a bunch of usable humbucker and "Fender" sounds via a five-way Superswitch.
You say, atom bomb. I say, tin of corned beef.

It’s not a bad guitar at all, but it doesn’t really excite me - it’s pretty much at the bottom of the pecking order.

Having said that, it would be a great starting point for a mod platform in a more interested pair of hands like you mentioned with the AX40.

Hence I’m looking for a sale or some other flavour.
