what strings for a PRS Vela ?

New to me 2022 model arrived, grubby and with 11s on it, and a very high action too.    Played it for about ten minutes and gave up as it was too much like hard work.  Took the strings off and cleaned it all up and it looks like a new guitar. 

I have also ordered a tort pickguard to replace the well used black one so I have a couple of weeks in which to clean it properly and then wait before I can take it to my local tech, so..

I know they ship with 10s, and my last one had 10s on it too, but does anyone use 9s on their's?

I have a Starla and have 9s on it (specifically Ernie Balls).

10s on mine. There’s very little extra string length due to the top loading bridge, and mid scale length, so 10s feel quite slack when bending.

I think that 10s are the likely winner here too.

10-46 on mine when I had it. Tuned to Eb though if that matters.

If it's that in-between PRS scale I'd probably go 10s too. Deffo 10s on a Gibson scale, 9s on a Fender. 

Disclaimer - in three decades of playing the guitar, I've managed to not try a PRS. No idea why.

I was after a tort guard for mine!

I would have happily split postage.

I've got 10s on mine, but was thinking about 11s funnily enough. 

Might not bother now.

I ordered the pickguard from a place in the states - about £40 plus VAT when delivered.  Doesn't seem unreasonable.

Don't bother with 11s unless you want to suffer.
