They are giving away a free plugin to all QC owners when they upgrade to 3.0.

That looks nothing like a ported plug-in imo it looks more like a patch that's been created. I've tried to love to QC a couple of times, but that looks disappointing.

I think people were expecting the plugin GUI, weren’t they…

Shame. That would have been cool.

Would be difficult on a screen the size of the QC.

I wish they would put their effort into improving the effects on the QC instead.  If you have good captures and effects, then you should be able to get whatever sounds you want without needing the plugins.

To be fair it was announced ages ago that the plugins would use the QC ui. I don't really see how you could integrate the plugin blocks with the QC blocks otherwise. To be honest, I think it works better that way, I prefer to be able to see my whole chain in one go

Some of the demo's on Rabeas vid sounded pretty different though.

Although I own a Quad Cortex, and putting the previous false promises aside, they're still quite a dislikeable company. There's a real smarmy'ness about them in their marketing. All this 'Soon', 'When' nonsense, general crap banter, and their CEO who has some history. They 'think' they're far better than they really are.

I'm confused how people would expect anything else? Plugins aren't really designed to be used/tweaked live, while these types of products are clearly designed to be onstage with you. How could the QC screen replicate a computer monitor and a mouse/keyboard input mechanism?

This seems like the best of both worlds, and re-ignites my interest in moving away from some of my digital pedals to a QC. I can use the QC as it was designed for the last few years, plus get access to both individual components or full presets from any plugin I want (when available). Plus 1 free plugin upon purchase/upgrade? That's a pretty decent deal.
