QUESTION: If the small denomination "copper" coins are taken out of circulation, what would football supporters throw at opposition goalkeepers?

Penny washers?  Only 29p each from B&Q, i.e. £2.99 for a pack of 10.  Canny supporters will obviously buy in bulk from industrial fastener wholesalers to lower the unit price, eg. £2.50 for 100 = a bit less than thruppence each.

Getting rid of ''coppers''has been discussed and studied many many times.  There are extremely good reasons for keeping them despite their ever lessening spending power.  And the countries that ''have'' gotten rid of them, most of them actually haven't, they operate a ''round up/down'' system instead, the coins are still available just rarely seen or used.
