My Samsung S9 is on its last legs, needs charging twice a day and gets  hot.
No contract
Budget around the £250 mark
Must have micro sd slot
Good camera.
Not bothered about gaming or anything like that.

One of the current Moto G series? I've still got a G7 Power and the OH has a G9 Play, and they're both still going well.

(I'm guessing that Moto improved the camera - my G7 one is pretty poor, but it's several years old.)

    I have an OPPO A72,

I used it for a week between upgrades.

Comes with an armour type case.

I'll double check it's not network locked.

    £75 posted?

Generally speaking, the Moto series is always a good choice. I think that I'm on my fifth one (G13). There definitely was one model with a naff camera but recently they have been very good, although the highest quality settings are not always the best for some reason. You have to play around until you get great results.

Motorola every time, simply because it's a safe bet.

I’ve had a G13 for a year because the cost to replace my iPhone was massive,  it actually is really good nd quite like an iOS phone compared to androids 10 years back.  Good cameta

Likely imminent investment in a Moto G54. Reviews seem to be glowing as in not much else around as good for the money (£149 most places).
Old, overweight and badly maintained. Unlike my amps which are just old and overweight.

Just doing you a favour and shifting this to Off Topic - more traffic in there. Friends in Need is more for "support group" threads, really.

Bought one last weekend from Amazon for my wife for £140.
She had a Samsung before, she’s absolutely made up with it.

With the imminent arrival of the Pixel 9 there are offers on the Pixel 8 with enhanced trade in values as well.
I was able to change to a Pixel 8 for £290 but will depend on what your phone is valued at.

Edit to add this was at the Goggle Store

I have an Ulephone Armor 8 tough phone which is built like a brick and does everything I want it to do. At a push you could probably hammer in a nail with it! They are now up to Armor24 which gives you some idea of how robust mine is! Dont buy if you want a light flimsy phone

    Either this phone:

Or the ''Nothing Phone'' - granted this one os double your budget but it is also the flagship model from the above phone brand, both get amazing reviews and not just from MrWhosTheBoss

I dabbled with midrange Samsungs but found them clunky and sluggish, so have gone back to Motorola and it's a night and day difference.

Mine's a G84 and I've never sworn at it once, which is how I measure quality in tech devices.
    :)

My first ever mobile was a Motorola in 1996 but since then I have used Nokia. My current phone does everything and good camera too. I have had this one about two and a half years, sill going strong. Cost me about £120.
