2013 Gibson Les Paul 1957 Billy F. Gibbons Pinstripe Goldtop aged is a strictly limited collector's item. Only 100 aged and 150 VOS models were made. Its look is, of course, pure Billy Gibbons. A replica of Billy’s original ‘57 - it has custom hot rod style pinstripes on the gold finish, all designed by the Reverend himself. Likewise, Billy is responsible for the belt buckle rubbing on the back of the guitar in the shape of his home state of Texas with special attention to Houston. Of course this aged version comes with an authentic vintage patina with countless small and larger quirks, as well as the characteristic greenish-yellowed patina. Playing this chambered replica is excellent due to its dream weight of only 3250 grams and the Custom Billy Gibbons neck profile (0.9''-1.01''), which fits perfectly in the hand. And there's really not much to say about the sound. The two Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates deliver pure ZZ Top sounds. The sound presents itself crisp, fat and three-dimensional in every possible pickup combination, which is continuously selectable via the two volume controls and a tone pot (no toggle switch!). Phenomenal Texas honk, think "La Grange", "Jesus Just Left Chicago" and "Tush". This is a great guitar full of Texas tone and future investment value…
