wide TV cabinet - anyone seen any?

What's Hot

I'm wondering if there are any really wide TV cabinets around

something in oak, or traditional looking dark woods

would need to be 183cm between the legs, and legs 12cm high or more

top surface around 80cm high, 40cm or more depth

some open shelves for DVD player, PVR, PS3 etc

anyone seen anything? they all seem to be 130-150cm wide in total

Shame it needs to be natural.

    We have this:

in high gloss black and it's awesome. Loads of storage and closeable shelves for PS3/Sky box etc.

I have an old PS3, and I to have to have something underneath it to raise it up a bit so the air gets underneath so it doesn't sound like a plane taking off, but other than that, had no problems (and I must point out I had the same issue with my old TV cabinet and the PS3 and that was more "standard".

not quite wide enough, I'm looking to put a TV in front of an old fireplace, and the hearth bit is 183cm wide and 12cm high

I bought this Serano S150BG11 TV Stand from PC World. It is worth a look. WARNING: It is very heavy. I transported it in my Ford Cougar, and then had to take the component parts individually up to my flat. Assembly is a piece of cake, and one person can put it together.

A 55" Samsung TV sits comfortably on top, with a few centimetres of extra length available at both ends.

I saw the IKEA TV Stand (in white), which Jon mentioned, and it is a very attractive unit. Unfortunately, I had already purchased the black glass stand from PC World.

You may find this interesting:-  http://vicindex.com/tag/60-inch/  I googled with keywords TV Cabinet For 60 Inch TV. You can do a search for cheaper UK alternatives.

great advice thanks, that one just might fit, in the space - and looks wide enough - but Mrs Control says no, the room is very old fashioned you see

    The TV I fancy is a 70 inch, 40kg, 157.4cm wide, saw a good offer: http://www.costco.co.uk/view/product/uk_catalog/cos_1,cos_1.1,cos_1.1.1/167217

I'll spend some time on that vcindex site thanks
