Eleven Rack Question

benvallbenvall Frets: 83
So @randomhandclaps is selling an eleven rack and I've been liking these for some time.

However, I don't have protools and I have no desire to record. I do a fair amount of gigs (2 or 3 a month) playing covers so I like the possible flexibility.

Does anyone else use one live or are they really meant to be used in the studio? Would someone like me be better of with one of the pods if I'm not gonna record anything?

  • They have a fraction of a second's silent dropout between patches (whether you're using amp models or not). It's down to you as to whether you can live with it, but I most definitely can't.

It's really frustrating, since they sound absolutely stunning live, especially with a good power amp like a Marshall 20/20.

Check out some recent YouTube clips of the band H.E.A.T - their guitarist Eric Rivers uses one live and has stunning tones that you'd never know weren't from a valve amp.
