The one from Red's True Barbecue is awesome.  Here's a photo of one from the burger competition at Grillstock Manchester.  We got given a half one as we were next to the judging table and it was very filling to share between two people.

I've had the donut burger at Reds True Barbecue, it's ace and I'm not a fan of the American thing of mixing meat and sweet. You wouldn't want to eat one everyday and it took a while to finish but finish it I did. I'm not a fatty either. Gotta treat yourself occasionally right?

wasn't intended as a joke. I'm not very fond of cheese, although I'll eat it if I think I'm going to get a glass of port with it.

I make something similar with a glazed Krispy Creme doughnut.

Except I cut the doughnut in half and then reverse it - so the stick side is inside and you can still pick it up without getting covered in goo.

Thing is, it contains 98% of the calories a woman needs, so think of the time she'd save not having to prepare any other meals.

I am also slightly rotund!

Try it though - and lightly toast the cut inside of the doughnut before you assemble it. The sugar content of the dough mix caramelises a bit.

You can't make the burger without bacon though - you need the salt to knock back the sweetness of the doughnut.
