£150 of Hotrox Credit - What to buy?

What's Hot

After my Hotrox B9 debacle I now have £150 of store credit to use, but here is the question.

What to buy?

My first thought was a pedaltrain 3 as that's very much on my shopping list, but they aren't price competitive with Thomann for PT stuff.

Next thought was maybe an Eventide H9, but it's too much on top even if they were price competitive which again they aren't.

So top thoughts so far are:

Pigtronix Echolution 2 - Extra dough on top, but look awesome.

Source Audio Orbital Modulator

MXR Super Badass - I so don't need another distortion, but I tried one of these and luuuurve them

A WH Dirty Donny - Again tried and loved one of these recently.

Anything else cool you guys can think of?

  • The new EHX Pitch Fork is awesome. Spend the rest on strings etc.

I am slightly tempted by it, but the reason I have the credit is that the last thing EHX I bought blew up and I've sworn off the brand.

  • Buy something for someone else on here, they beam you cash, you buy Rufus elsewhere

Buy what is cost effective, ie... Things you can't get cheaper elsewhere at thomann etc.

What are you missing from your board? Gain or anything?

    Wampler Tweed 57 or Catalinbread 5f6. Or possibly a T-Rex Mudhoney 2.

Please could you then endeavour to become bored of it shortly after christmas and sell it to me.

I'm more than happy to do that if someone wants something from HotRox. I'll take a tenner hit to make it worth your while if you do.

ZVex Box Of Rock or any of the other ZVex pedals at £152. A quick check shows Thomann are only three quid cheaper, plus shipping.

The Quint looks like another possibility.

Same price as a Micro POG

Not a bad idea, but I prefer the Distortron which turns up on the classifieds at £60 on a regular basis.

The Mastotron could be an option though.

    Free the Tone Flight Time.
Not a bad idea and it does have MIDI (which is a requirement for a high end delay) however it's a lot more than the Pigtronix and seems to have less features (though the big screen would be useful)

its a good pedal and it works consistently well (tracking wise). The sound is very big and organ like.
It had me entertained for a good while when I borrowed one.
I think @impmann was thinking of selling his one too.
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.
